Monday was a hot day and we have not have many hot days this year, actually since april we have not had any 90 degree + days. I went out for a walk on my bike(40 mins) and it was nice to ride on a hot day but my legs felt like rocks.. I have a stage race in Millersbug, Pa this coming weekend and i am looking forward to getting back on top of my game. I am feeling strong but for some reason i have not been able to place well or win a race in awhile. My TT abilities seem to be the strongest but in my last race i placed 11th which is my lowest placing in any TT that i have done to this date. Given the Torrential downpour that a few of us faced in the last 3 miles this could of been the reason, but i am not one to make excuses as i think you train hard and that should be the best. Today is another active recovery day so heading out for another walk on the bike later today will be fun, i guess due to the slowing of the economey we have to find ways to stay motivated. Back to the title of this Blog and i think what i am trying to form in the meaning of a question, why are our legs sore from riding hard time and time again. If we train hard and make advances then what stopes our bodies from adapting to the adaptation that we are trying to impose on it. Does stretching, self massage, massage therapy or any other type of manual therapy make a difference(kind of a stupid question) but what about the people that don't stretch or take any type of care of themselves and still seem to do better and better...
